Pattern play excites us. It’s fun and contributes to standing out in a crowd. It creates an atmosphere of ‘put-togetherness.’ We’ve always been told that vertical stripes make us longer, horizontal stripes make us wider. But in a constant industry of change and as all body shapes have an equal stance in beauty, the industry has changed and is now more accepting of both. These vertical stripes cinch in the waist and as one side remains un-tucked, the outfit appears casual and careless.

What is the environmental cost of leather vs pleather? Nothing, if bought from a thrift or vintage store as these were. Yet, is a fake leather really better for the environment? This plastic made product has more environmental costs than we are aware of, yet the effect this has takes place behind the scenes. Is pleather really producing lower greenhouse gas emissions and polluting the Earth less than the other?
